[AvoEats] 108 Matcha Saro @ Suria KLCC REVIEW

Third food review, you’re welcome.

After eyeing this place for so long, I have finally paid it my physical visit.

108 Matcha Saro is a Matcha Specialty’s Store from Hokkaido. Over the years, they have expanded their Matcha business to countries like Taiwan and Singapore and last year, have finally come to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Located at Suria KLCC, somewhere on the second floor, near to the food court, round the corner, the store was looking very Japanese with its wooden counters, flooring and ceilings and also the iconic food sampuru which has always been the thing in every Japanese eatery.

MENU

The menu could basically be broken down into two teams, the Matcha Team and the Hojicha Team. They had Matcha Latte, Hojicha Latte or the classic Matcha drink without milk. If you are dairy-free, they too offered soy milk as the alternative but sadly, they didn’t have soy milk in the house when we went there.

The dessert that caught my attention the most was their Obanyaki, looking so fluffy with fillings. And of course, the famous Warabimochi !

OUR ORDERS

Classic Hot Matcha

RM 13.90

Well, I have to first comment on how small this was, like the cup of 3 year old, and the drink had only filled up 3/4 of the cup. Taste wise, it was fine and usual like every other pure Matcha drink – bitter.

Overall, this is not up for its price. For RM 13.90, I was expecting a cup 1.5 times bigger than this one.

Ice Hojicha Latte

RM 13.90

Since soy milk wasn’t available, we had the regular cow milk.

This was quite disappointing to be franked. The hojicha was barely there and all we were tasting was the milk which was Way Too Much.

.

Obanyaki Red Bean Paste + Matcha Dough

RM 6.90

Lol, this is a real-life example of expectation-vs-reality because on the menu the obanyakis were looking so thicc and fluffy but in real life, it was rather thin and small. Chewy texture but taste wise, this was not bad.

.

Cup Warabi Mochi (Mixed Flavor) Soybean + Matcha

RM 12.50

Damn, the warabis melted in our mouth once chewed and they weren’t too sweet. Soybean flavor was good. Love the texture.

Rate 7.5/10

Overall : 5/10
Below my expectation. Pricey and not worthy.
